IMPORTANT PARKING NOTE - Parking in our back (west) parking lot is closed due to construction of the Town of Okotoks hockey rink. We ask that parents not use our back parking lot for pickup or drop-off for at least the next couple of weeks, as the lot will remain congested until this first phase of construction is completed. Also, please remember our front parking lot (bus loop) is closed from 8:00 am onwards due to school bus entry. - Given limited parking options for parents, if driving your child, please drop-off at one of the side streets at the latest by 8:25 am. It is best to drop-off a block or two away from the school and allow students to calmly walk to any of our entry doors which open at 8:00 am. We always remind students not to jaywalk and instead use the marked crosswalks. - At the end of the school day, these same requests apply to avoid congestion and help students/parents leave the building safely. - We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation by allowing extra time and driving slowly at all times, given the volume of traffic and pedestrians before and after school! If your child will take a bus to/from school, you can ignore this information as bus access remains unchanged, with students arriving between 8:00 and 8:30 am.
After a couple great days of professional learning, our staff can’t wait to welcome all our Gryphons back to school on Tuesday! On Friday (tomorrow, before noon), parents will have a note posted in your Parent Portal (SchoolEngage) indicating the homeroom number and homeroom teacher name to which your child has been assigned for the year ahead. Parents will receive an email notification to alert you that this information has been posted. Students only need this information so they know which homeroom class to attend on the first day, Tuesday, September 5th. In case students forget or misplace this information, rest easy as staff will be in our hallways on the first morning of school, helping to direct students to their correct homeroom (and can easily look up the student’s name to direct them properly). By this Friday evening, students’ full schedules will be visible for parents and students in PowerSchool, allowing you to see all courses and teachers. Students will receive a paper copy of their schedule at the start of the day on Tuesday. **Please stay tuned to your email for a couple other important reminders before Tuesday! #StJPIIRocks #GameOn
🚨Important Cafeteria Reminder for TODAY!🚨
Christ the Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Holly O’Neill as Vice Principal of St. John Paul II Collegiate. St. John Paul II Collegiate Principal, Marco Pacione shares, “Holly is a well-respected master teacher on our staff who models reflective and inquiry-driven professionalism and excellent judgement in both formal and informal leadership roles she has held at our school. She regularly and keenly pursues professional development so as to become a better teacher and refine her craft.
