Options
Part of our philosophy of education at St. John Paul II Collegiate is to provide students with considerable exposure to different ideas and areas of interest.
Our option courses are designed to allow students to experience a wide variety of classes.
Grade 7 and 8 option courses are offered on a quarterly system. This means that each student will rotate through a variety of different subject areas over the course of the school year. With the exception of Band and French, which run all year, each grade 7 and 8 courses will last for one term (approximately 10 weeks).
Grade 9 option classes are semestered (20 weeks) and will change at the end of January. Students in grade 9 have the opportunity to rank their choices and have some selection in which options they want to take.
Option courses are designed to give students a taste of various different areas of interest to help identify areas they would like to pursue in high school and beyond.
